St. Michael's is pleased to offer a CYO track and field program where children can participate in ...
- Running (50, 100, 200, 400, 800, and 1600) events
- Field (long jump, high jump, shot put, softball throw) events
- Relays (4x100, 4x400, sprint medley)
Teams are open to all students in grades 3rd through 8th grade. Those in kindergarten through 2nd grade can participate with permission from the coordinator.
While we would like to welcome everyone, participants must fit one of the following criteria ...- St. Michael School student or Faith Formation student
- St. Michael parish family
- St. Charles Faith Formation student and parish family with waiver
- Reside within St. Michael's boundaries (verify your address)
We compete in the Diablo Valley Catholic League, which is Section 1 of the Oakland Diocese CYO. -

REGISTRATION AND FEES
Visit the CYO track website for registration and information.
The cost is $110* per athlete. Additional athletes in the same family are $85* each. The cost per athlete is $10 lower if they have a jersey from a previous season of CYO track or cross country.
There is also a $200 volunteer deposit per family. If the family satisfies the volunteer requirement, the full amount will be refunded at the end-of-season party.
If you wish to cancel your registration, refund requests must be sent by March 1 to receive a refund minus uniform fees. No refunds will be issued after March 1. -
SCHEDULE
The track and field program takes place in the spring. Practices begin mid-February with activities continuing through the Diocese Championship Meet in mid-May.
The meet schedule will be published soon. -
VOLUNTEERS
We invite all parents, grandparents, aunts, uncles, friends and other family members to participate in this wonderful opportunity with the children.
Our track and field program is in need of volunteers to serve as:- Volunteer Coordinator
- Relay Team Coordinator
- Coach
- Assistant Coach
- Practice Check-in and Check-out
- Ribbon Coordinator
- Personal Best Ribbon Coordinator
- Uniform Coordinator
- End of Year Party
- Track Meet Photographer
- Charity Event Coordinator
- Track Meet Volunteer - Judges, Timers, Setup, etc
Volunteers Coaches must:- Complete Virtus Training every four years. Once completed, submit the certificate to the school office.
- Be fingerprinted through Live Scan. Email [email protected] for instructions.
St. Michael's families can earn up to five (5) volunteer hours for their time volunteering through CYO.
As a reminder, there is also a $200 volunteer deposit per family. If the family satisfies the volunteer requirement, the full amount will be refunded at the end-of-season party. -

CONGRATULATIONS
Congratulations to CYO Alumnus Roland Ruckmann-Barnes!
The Granada High School cross country team led by senior and St. Michael alumnus Roland Ruckmann-Barnes completed an historic season:- Team championship and individual championship for Roland at the EBAL championship
- Team championship at the North Coast Section Championship
- Second place team in division II at the CIF state championship and fourth overall across all divisions.
- 16th place team at the Nike Cross Country Nationals
Roland will continue his running career at the University of California, Berkeley.
