Why I Teach at St. Michael School It was a spiritual calling, and I want to use my God-given gifts to bring young souls at SMS to Christ. St. Michael School carries a spirit that matches my own, and I feel that God can grow the seeds that I can plant at SMS a hundred fold.
My Philosophy of Teaching I believe every child should be treated with Christ-like love, patience, kindness, and respect while being encouraged to grow in their faith and become the person God made them to be. "Be who God meant you to be, and you will set the world on fire" - Saint Catherine of Siena. I want to create a safe and welcoming environment where children can know God better and make Him better known through opportunities that allow God to do His good work in their hearts. I want to be a humble instrument of God to help the children of SMS form a lifelong personal relationship with Jesus, be stewards of God's creation, and become life-long disciples of Jesus.
My Background I graduated from Saint Mary's College of California with a Performing Arts: Vocal Performance and psychology degree as well as the Kalmanovitz School of Education at Saint Mary's College. I have worked at multiple Catholic Schools within the Diocese of Oakland within the last 15 years, and have been a cantor in the Diocese of Oakland for the last 25 years.
My Life Outside St. Michael I love to serve at mass, spend time with my family and take relaxing walks with my German Shepherd. I love to cook for my family, paint, and draw. I enjoy supporting and being present for my children in all that they do, and I love enjoying nature!
